Gerard J. Dodman, Sr., 90, of Scotch Plains, formerly of Rahway, passed away Jan. 15, 2010 in Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Valley Stream, NY before coming to Rahway in 1953, he moved to Scotch Plains in 1998. He was a WW II US Navy Veteran. He was employed by Merck and Co., Rahway as an accountant for 46 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Merck & Co. Quater Century Club. He was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church. He was a member of the Rahway Retired Mens Club. He was predeceased by his first wife Gladys Croney Dodman in 1967. Surviving is his wife Jalanne Baldwin Dodman, 3 sons, Thomas of Middlesex, Gerard, Jr. of Rahway and Joseph of N. Wales, Pa., he was also loved by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday Jan. 19, 2010 at 9:00 AM in the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home 371 west Milton Ave. Rahway thence to St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway where his funeral Mass will be offerd at 10:00 AM.
