Gladys May Olsen
Gladys May Olsen (nee Rodgers), 75, of Colonia, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Mountainside. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 8:15 p.m. at the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 W. Milton Ave., Rahway. Cremation will be private. Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Olsen was born in Lehighton, Pa. and lived in Bloomfield before moving to Colonia in 1958. She worked for many years as a salesperson for Huffman Koos in Linden before retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Woodbridge Senior Citizens Fun Time Bowling. Gladys Olsen was predeceaed by her beloved husband, Oscar, in 1996. She was the devoted mother of William Olsen and his wife, Jo Ann, of Jackson; Nancy Olsen-Clark of Durham, N.C., and Karen Sforza and her husband, Dominick, of Mountainside. She was loved by her grandchildren, Wesley, Carissa, Cheryl, William, Kevin, Nicole and Anthony, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Katelynn, Evan and Owen. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gladys Olsen's memory may be made to either the charity of your choice or St. Joseph Social Service Center, 120 Division St., Elizabeth, N.J. 07201.
