SPANGLE
AGE: 68 BARNEGAT
Ralph Edward Spangle, 68, of Barnegat, formerly of Rahway and Florida, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his home. Mr. Spangle was born and raised in Rahway, lived in Lake Okeechobee, FL for 10 years before moving to Barnegat one year ago. Before retiring in 1992, Mr. Spangle worked as a powerhouse engineer for 10 years for Cosmair in Clark. Prior to Cosmair, he was a self-employed contractor for many years as well as working as a Rahway Special Police Officer in the 1970s. While residing in Florida, Eddie was a member of the Lake Okeechobee Elks.
Mr. Spangle was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Sarah Spangle as well as his sister, Harriet Wick. His is survived by his daughter, Lori Walsh and her husband Eugene fo Jupiter Farms, FL; his brother, Martin Spangle and his wife Dorothy of Manahawkin; and his sister, Sara Crowell and her husband Jim of Barnegat. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Caitlin and Blake as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at 8:30 p.m. at the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 West Milton Ave., Rahway. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Assoc. or American Diabetes Association may be made in Mr. Spangle's memory.
